By all accounts, Netflix’s Devil May Cry is a major hit. Critics have been giving the animated series by Adi Shankar acclaim, up to 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, All in spite of the animated adaptation of Capcom’s video game franchise of the same name essentially not following the games’ story one bit other than in a bare bones way to boot. Clearly, Shankar must’ve done something right with the series that get that kind of praise.

One big part of what he did right (along with composers Jarome Harmsworth and Joel Harmsworth of Power Glove) is the music. And now, you can hear that music in vinyl form. Mondo is proud to announce that they have just released Devil May Cry‘s soundtrack as a vinyl record, titled DEVIL MAY CRY – Soundtrack to the Netflix Series 2xLP. The soundtrack includes “two Devil Trigger Black Vinyl records, featuring original songs and covers from the video game series by Power Glove, score by Alex Seaver, and the original track “Afterlife” performed by Evanescence”. At the very least, you can groove out to the soundtrack.

You might be a canon purist who’s not a big fan of how Adi Shankar basically did his own thing with the story. But honestly, I highly doubt even canon purists would deny that the soundtrack is amazing. The music of Netflix’s Devil May Cry is one of the universally good things about it. Especially once you hear the various covers of video game tracks like “Devil Trigger” and “Bury the Light”. And now you can hear that soundtrack in the pure tones of vinyl to boot. What’s not to like about it?
